Cinnabar Island is a city located on an island with a dormant volcano in southern Kanto. It first appears in Pocket Monsters Red and Green Versions (released as Pokémon Red and Blue Versions internationally). In the Generation I games and the Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen remakes, Blaine is the Gym Leader of Cinnabar Island, and can be battled in the Cinnabar Gym. If the player character wins the battle, Blaine rewards him with the Volcano Badge. The Pokémon Mansion and Pokémon Laboratory are unique locations to the area. Prior to the events of Pokémon Gold and Silver Versions and Pokémon Crystal, Cinnabar Island was destroyed by a volcano. In these games, a Pokémon Center is the only building left on Cinnabar Island. As a result, Blaine's Gym was relocated to the nearby Seafoam Islands. ItemsPoké MartIn the Generation I games, the Poké Mart is right next to the Pokémon Center.
