Palkia is a dual Water/Dragon-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Versions. Palkia is the mascot of Pokémon Pearl Version and its remake, Pokémon Shining Pearl, and is featured on the cover art of both games. Palkia is a member of the Legendary Dragons trio, and it represents spatial dimensions. According to Sinnoh lore, both Palkia and Dialga are said to have been created by Arceus, at a time when space began to take form and matter began to take shape.
Game appearances[edit]
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Versions[edit]
In Pokémon Pearl Version, Palkia is the Pokémon mascot, and a silhouette of it appears on the title screen. Palkia is found at Spear Pillar where it is summoned by Cyrus, who hopes to have it create a new universe for him. Palkia is stopped by the Lake Guardians — Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf — who nullify its power, allowing the player character to battle it. Palkia is a level 47, and it holds the Lustrous Orb item.
In Pokémon Diamond Version, Palkia is not encountered, and it can only be obtained by trading with a player who has a Palkia.
