Pokémon Master is an ambiguous title that allegedly refers to the mastery in both use and study of Pokémon in the Pokémon franchise. It is what all Pokémon Trainers strive to be. Becoming a Pokémon Master is always the goal of the main protagonist — in the main Pokémon series, it is the player character's goal; in the anime series, it is Ash Ketchum's goal; and in the manga, it is the goal of the various protagonists based on player characters from the main series.
